Thanksgiving in California

Last week's holiday was the ideal time to visit family we don't get to see often enough and to give thanks for having them in our lives.

First to the San Francisco area to visit Niece Marcy, Dryden and their precious new son, Alastair. He was a preemie who weighed in at a mere three pounds, 11 ounces. Now at two months, he's passed the five-pound milestone and is packing on those important ounces. Niece Robin told me that my heart would never again be the same after holding Alastair in my arms, and she was so right. He had me at hello.

Then down the coast for Turkey Day with Alex. We had fun and fed him good food for a couple of days and even took in a movie -- Blind Side. Great movie, based on a true story in Memphis. We recommend it.
Time went by too fast. I miss them all. But at least one person was happy for our return. As you can see in the last photo, kitten Big Sam helped us unpack.
