The Real Thang

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Burton (right) poses with Mike when Burton was New Year's Eve guest star with Mike's band, Rob and the Rage, at the Horseshoe Casino.

Burton played lead guitar for Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Frank Sinatra and others. There was barely standing room for the New Year's Eve performance.

Hi! I happened upon your blog a few minutes, while googling "Rob and the Rage." I must say that I have enjoyed reading it. :)

I am 24 and from Arkansas (about an hour from Jonesboro). I was born in Memphis, and I love visiting whenever I can. I love the Bluff City and am proud to hail from there. My dad, who would have been 75 this May, had a rich history with Memphis. Oh, and I am also an Elvis fan--an all-around pretty eccentric gal for my age.

I graduated last May with a journalism degree and am dealing with the task of finding THAT job. Thankfully, I can still live at home while I do this.

Sorry to write you a novel, but I just wanted to comment. I can't believe you met Morgan Freeman!I want to visit "Ground Zero" one day, and hopefully meet him. He is my favorite present-day actor. Oh! I just love him! :)

Thanks again!

Kewpie --
I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to the Plunk Chronicles. I hope you'll return.

I was a journalism major too, and worked as a reporter for a couple of years at the Jonesboro Sun. There are a lot of interesting things to do with that educational background.

Enjoy!
