A while back, Mike and I watched an “oldies” show on PBS featuring rock and R&B groups from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Some of the groups were reunited for the show. A few others are still performing together. All in all, it was a great show.
Most of the groups sounded good. Some were visually recognizable. Unfortunately, some of the old rocker guys seemed not to have looked in a mirror for 35 years, and there they were in tee shirts and tank tops. It looked like Italian night at the bowling alley. They made me utter the Southern phrase that can mean all things at any given time: “Oh, bless their hearts.”
And then – there was Marilyn McCoo and her husband-singing partner Billy Davis. In the way-back, they were with the Fifth Dimension, and she was the lead singer. She was so powerful, they launched out on their own; and they’re still performing. They look and sound fantastic. I want some of whatever they’re taking. I checked and the lady was born in 1943!
Here’s a youtube clip from the show we watched.

HAHA! "Oh, bless their hearts." I might need to start using that one. :)
They are really in love. I remember watching them on the Jerry Lewis telethon in 1976(?) or so. Think I remember them with a show on one of the religious networks during the 80's.
